Your source for unbiased, evidence-based information about gut health, the microbiome, & nutrition science

Welcome!

I’m Lucy, a microbiome researcher and scholar of integrative gut health.

My mission is to provide helpful, unbiased evidence-based information on gut health, the microbiome, and nutrition science that empowers you to reverse chronic disease and live more fully and joyfully.

Currently, I do this primarily through writing blog articles on this website. Most of the concepts I write or speak about are not my own, but rather ideas I discover from hours of reading the published scientific and medical literature. This blog would not be possible without the scientific work of many amazing and talented researchers and clinicians.

Often, I am simply breaking down a complex topic or newly published finding and delivering it in a more understandable format. Sometimes I will also bring together research from a variety of areas in a new way to reveal potentially actionable insights. Either way, I always provide a list of primary sources and encourage you to read the literature itself.

I also offer one-on-one consultations to help guide individuals on their journey to better gut health. I am not a licensed practitioner and do not claim to have all of the answers – there is a reason I refer to myself as a “scholar” and not an “expert” in integrative gut health! We still have a lot to learn about the gut microbiome, and I think a healthy dose of skepticism and caution is necessary for anyone who seeks to tread in this area.

At the same time, I know all too well that sometimes we need to look outside the traditional model of care to find our way back to health. I found answers to my own health struggles with chronic eczema by reading and learning about gut health and integrative approaches to healthcare.

I hope that you will similarly find the resources on this site informative and helpful!
